Joint Degree Requirements

Breadth and Major Courses (39 credits)

MBA Capstone Course (3 credits)

Choose one of the following courses. Must be taken in last 12 credits of program.

MA Capstone Project (0-6 credits)

The following courses correspond to teh MBA portion of the joint MA-MBA program. They must be completed before the MBA major courses in management can be taken.

Executive Communication and Leadership (3 credits)

All MBA students must, within the first 9 credits, complete:

AACSB Core Courses (0-18 credits)

The AACSB Core includes six courses.

For each core course, the Silberman College of Business grants waiver credit based on the basis of:

1. an equivalent undergraduate course or sequence of courses taken within the past five years and with a grade or sequence of grades no lower than " B ";
2. completion of a full undergraduate major in that field; or
3. a proficiency examination

Each waiver of a core course reduces by three the number of required credits.

FDU Breadth Courses (12 credits)

Breadth courses are subject to waiver; the same conditions apply as to AACSB core courses. If granted waiver of a breadth course, however, the student replaces the waived breadth course with an elective course outside their major area.

Replacement Breadth Courses (0-12 credit hours)

One elective course for each FDU breadth course waived. The elective course used as a replacement for the waived breadth course must be outside the student's major field. A student can take up to two courses in one field.

Major or Electives (12 credits)

The following majors are available in the general programs:

• entrepreneurial studies
• finance
• human resource management
• international business
• marketing
• management
  • corporate communications concentration
  • health systems management concentration
  • information systems concentration
• pharmaceutical management studies

The student who wishes not to have a major may take four additional elective courses for a general MBA.

Capstone Course (3 credits)

All MBA students must, within the final 9 credits of coursework, complete either:
